5 Tips to Control Frizzy Hair

by Deborah on March 2nd, 2008

Skin

My hair is really thick so I tend to keep it in a pony tail or barrette. If I don’t, it’s more than I can manage - especially if it’s damp or rainy. I get the bushiest, frizziest hair you can imagine. In addition to the aforementioned ponytail, there are a few things you can do to tame frizzy hair.

  1. When styling your hair use a little conditioner. It’s been recommended to me to use a leave in conditioner, but even those that you’re supposed to rinse out right away tame frizzies and dry without stickiness. I never have a problem, no matter which conditioner I use for dry hair.
  2. Use a moisture block or anti frizz product. There are several products on the market geared towards taming frizzy hair. Some work better than others, I like “Frizz-Ease” though I don’t use many of these products any more.
  3. Have your hair cut in layers. Layers make your hair looks and feel less “thick”.
  4. Use shampoos and conditioners that moisturize. Deep condition once a week.
  5. Use a spray or gel on finished hair styles to control frizz throughout the day.
