8 Things You Never Knew You Could Do With Vinegar

If you read my Simply Thrifty blog, you know I’m all about saving money. One of my favorite frugal staple is vinegar. This all purpose liquid is great for cleaning and freshening the air, but do you know you can use it for for beauty and cosmetic purposes too? Behold:

8 Things You Never Knew You Could Do With Vinegar

1. Vinegar Diminishes Age Spots! Ok, this is going to sound a little stinky, but go with me on this. If you take one part onion juice and one part vinegar and mix it together, you have a great age spot diminishing concoction. Put it on at night after the loving and no one will ever know~
2. Use vinegar to tone your complexion. Mixed with water, vinegar makes a great toner - one that rivals some very expensive products!
3. Vinegar will add softness and shine to your hair. Vinegar adds condition and shine to your hair. I don’t like walking around with stinky vinegar hair though, so I use it together with an inexpensive conditioner such as Suave or White Rain. You can also mix vinegar with shampoo for stronger, healthier hair.
4. Vinegar will help soothe and soften dry skin. Add some vinegar to your bath water. Have a relaxing soak and soften skin at the same time!
5. Use vinegar to clean the schmootz off your curling iron. You know all that product buildup on your curling iron? Vinegar will remove it!
6. Vinegar can be used as a deodorant. Ok. So I’m not brave enough to try this one, but it’s said vinegar can be used to freshen up under the armpits.
7. A spritz of vinegar will tame your frizzies. If your hair suffers from the frizzies. Fill a spray bottle with vinegar and water and spritz now and then to tame.
8. Use vinegar for healthy nails. After trimming your nails, soak them in vinegar to make them strong and healthy!
