10 Uses for a Silk Scarf
Most women have at least one silk scarf hanging in your closet. If you’re like my mom, you probably have one for each outfit. I’m always amazed at her creativity, my mother can turn a flat piece of material into a fashionable accessory. Behold 10 Uses for a Silk Scarf:
- Use as a hair band - Scarves make wonderful hair bands, especially if there’s enough material left over after tying to cascade over one shoulder or down the back.
- Use as a headband - Not too many people can pull off a hippie-style headband. Are you one of them?
- Tie in an ascot. This is more of a masculine look, but I’ve seen some women who can pull it off as well.
- Tie in a loose knot around your neck. This look works for almost anyone. I like to wear a scarf this way when I don’t have a matching necklace.
- Wear around your head a la Grace Kelly - I always found this looks feminine and glamorous. If done properly you can look like a starlet, if not it looks like a babooshka.
- Tie onto the handles of your bag for a chic, updated look.
- Tie over your head in a "crown" knot. Another exotic and glamorous look.
- Use as a belt - Loop your scarf through the belt loops of your jeans or tie it around your waste to wear as a sash with a big shirt.
- Wear as a neckerchief - No, they’re not just for Boy Scouts!
- Tie around a ponytail - It’s a throwback to the 50’s but it’s adds a perky look to a ponytail.
